Join Markets & More for the 2026 season
We're now accepting applications from farmers, food vendors, and local artisans at both our 14&U and Bloomingdale markets in Washington, DC.
Who can sell at our markets
We host three types of vendors, each with its own application path:
1. Farmers and producers (full-season)
Our markets are producer-only. That means every vegetable, piece of fruit, jar of jam, dozen eggs, or pound of meat sold at the market must be grown, raised, or made by the person selling it (or their farm/business). We do not allow re-sellers. All farmers and producers must source from the Chesapeake Watershed region — DC, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Delaware, or Pennsylvania.
Full-season farmers commit to attending most weekends of the season (May–November for 14&U, year-round for Bloomingdale). In exchange, you get a guaranteed weekly slot at one of DC's most consistent farmers markets, with built-in foot traffic and customer base.
2. Pop-up food vendors
Pop-up food vendors serve prepared food and drinks at the markets on a rotating basis. Past pop-ups have included Vietnamese pho, Persian baklava, Greek pies, vegan dog treats, plant-based protein bars, Korean rice balls, and more. We curate pop-ups to complement, not compete with, our regular producers.
Pop-ups can apply for single-weekend visits or for a recurring monthly slot. We particularly welcome DC-based small businesses, women-owned and minority-owned businesses, and food vendors with a story.
3. Local artisans and makers
Beyond food, we host a curated lineup of DC-area artisans, makers, and small brands — ceramicists, jewelers, candle makers, illustrators, embroidery instructors, and more. Artisan slots rotate weekly and are limited to keep the markets food-forward.
What you need to apply
To start an application, email [email protected] with:
- The name of your business or farm
- What you produce or sell, and where it's grown/made
- Which market you'd like to attend (14&U, Bloomingdale, or both)
- Whether you're applying as a full-season vendor, a recurring pop-up, or a one-off visit
- Photos of your products and (for farmers) your farm
- Any relevant licenses or certifications — DC vendor license, ServSafe, etc.
- Your website and social handles, if any
We respond to every application within two weeks. If you're a good fit, we'll schedule a phone call and (for farmers) a farm visit.
Fees and logistics
Stall fees vary by vendor type and market day. Full-season farmer slots are billed by the season; pop-ups and artisans pay per attendance. We'll cover all of this on our intro call so you know exactly what to expect — there are no hidden costs and no commission on sales.
Vendors bring their own tents, tables, scales, and payment systems. We provide market signage, customer communications, programming (chef demos, music), and the Bonus Bucks program for SNAP customers.
What we look for
Above all, we look for quality. Are you proud of what you make? Do customers come back? Are you the kind of business that adds to the neighborhood feel of a Saturday morning at the market?
We also prioritize: producer-only sourcing (for farmers), small-business and woman/minority-owned businesses, vendors with a story, and applicants who can commit to a consistent schedule.
