Fresh food is affordable at our markets
If you're a DC resident on SNAP, WIC, or a fixed senior income, you can shop at our farmers markets for the same prices as anyone else — and often less, with Bonus Bucks matching your SNAP dollar.
At the markets
Both 14&U and Bloomingdale accept every federal nutrition benefit:
- SNAP/EBT — see our Bonus Bucks page. Swipe your card for matched dollars, up to $10 per visit.
- WIC FMNP — Farmers' Market Nutrition Program vouchers, accepted directly by farmers.
- Senior FMNP — for DC seniors enrolled in the program.
- Produce Plus — the District's own subsidy program.
See our full food access page for how to use each.
If you're not enrolled yet
If you think you might qualify for SNAP, WIC, or Senior FMNP and haven't applied, here are the right places to start:
- SNAP: apply through the DC Department of Human Services, in person at a Service Center or online at the DHS website.
- WIC: contact the DC Department of Health WIC program. WIC is for pregnant and postpartum women, infants, and children under 5.
- Produce Plus: enroll each season at any participating DC farmers market.
Stop by the market manager's tent at either of our markets — we keep printed program info on hand and can point you to the right place to start an application.
Other DC food resources
Beyond our markets, DC has a strong network of food access organizations:
- Capital Area Food Bank — the regional food bank, with a network of pantry partners.
- Bread for the City — food pantry, free clinic, social services, and legal aid.
- Martha's Table — McKenna's Wagon mobile food distribution and family services.
- DC Central Kitchen — meals, nutrition education, and culinary job training.
