Kristy McCarron works for the YMCA of Metropolitan Washington, coordinating all of their food and nutrition education and food access programs… and she’ll be making something delicious at our chef tent this weekend!

After receiving a degree in Biology, Kristy attended culinary school with a vague idea to pursue food for public health.  She has worked in fine-dining restaurants, creameries, school farms, and catering businesses throughout DC, as well as written children’s cookbooks for local schools. Her favorite food is juicy summertime watermelon and she is happiest when surrounded by friends and family in the kitchen.
