Did you make jam this summer? Mrs. Wheelbarrow has some ideas about using all those delicious fruit preserves in her new book, Mrs. Wheelbarrow’s Practical Pantry. She will share a recipe, offer samples and sign books.
In Mrs. Wheelbarrow’s Practical Pantry, food preserving expert Cathy Barrow presents a beautiful collection of essential preserving techniques for turning the fleeting abundance of the farmers’ market into a well-stocked pantry full of canned fruits and vegetables, jams, stocks, soups, and more. (For those of you who have followed her work in the Washington Post, New York Times, and other esteemed publications, you’re in for a treat….)
This Saturday, you can learn firsthand from this home preservation maven how to make your own delicious jam cookies at home. Mrs. Barrow will also have copies of her hot-off-the-presses new guide to home food preservation on hand, so you can buy a signed copy while you nibble on delectable homemade baked goods with jam. Yum. It doesn’t get much better than this!
